We believe in bringing ancient wisdom into modern life. Our mission is rooted in nature, quality, and transparency. When you choose Mycogenius, you're choosing products that are made with intention and crafted for both you and the planet.

Mission
We set measurable standards for functional mushroom extracts in Europe.
By defining what quality truly means and proving it through transparent, accredited testing, we deliver extracts that support cognitive clarity, resilience, and long-term well-being.
In doing so, we restore integrity to natural supplementation and reconnect people with compounds rooted in nature, validated through transparent testing.

Vision
To set the reference standard for functional mushroom extracts in Europe.
Quality should be measurable.
Extraction should be transparent.
Claims should withstand scrutiny.
We exist to make that the norm, not the exception.

Positioning
Mycogenius is not built for casual supplement buyers.
It is built for experienced consumers who have been disappointed by weak, overhyped mushroom products and refuse to waste money again.
For analytical professionals who read labels, question extraction methods, and expect laboratory proof.
We don't sell belief.
We deliver verifiable potency.
If you've tried functional mushrooms before and felt nothing, this is where the standard changes.
Here is a list of resources to learn more about functional mushrooms and the science behind them.

Premium mushroom extracts should clearly specify their quality markers, utilise either fruiting bodies or liquid-grown mycelium, and provide detailed information on the extraction process. Look for third-party testing that includes heavy metals analysis and compound verification. Avoid products with high starch content (indicating grain fillers) or those making unsubstantiated health claims.
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) contains unique compounds called hericenones and erinacines, found in the fruiting body and mycelium, respectively. These naturally occurring diterpenes have been studied extensively in research settings. The 1:1 extraction process preserves these compounds alongside beta-glucans, providing you with a whole profile extract that traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have valued for centuries. Testing for beta-glucans and polyphenols.
Premium Cordyceps extracts typically contain 1-3% cordycepin (3'-deoxyadenosine), which is significantly higher than in wild Cordyceps sinensis. Our testing verifies cordycepin and adenosine content in each batch, as these compounds are traditionally associated with the energy-supporting properties that made Cordyceps famous among Tibetan yak herders and athletes. Be cautious of products that don't specify their quality markers; it often indicates lower-quality sources.
Mushroom powder is dried and ground from fruiting bodies or mixed with mycelium grown on grain, while extracts concentrate bioactive compounds through water or alcohol extraction. Extracts offer a much higher concentration of beneficial compounds. For functional benefits, extracts are preferred because they focus on the compounds that researchers study, while powders retain fibre but lower compound density per serving. Overuse of mushroom powders (non-extract) has been shown to produce a negative effect on the liver.
As much as we like coffee, the issue is its pre-ground, which means it's most likely rancid due to oxidation. Reishi extracts would make coffee extremely bitter and hard to drink. There's also the Cordyceps and coffee combo. Some studies suggest that they might actually counteract each other, which is why we recommend avoiding Cordyceps when taken with coffee altogether or consuming at least an hour or two before or after. Saying this, we do suggest adding Lion's Mane to freshly ground coffee; it can work well.
Timing depends on your goals and the specific mushroom. Lion's Mane works well in morning routines for daytime focus, while Reishi traditionally supports evening relaxation. Cordyceps users often prefer morning intake to support their active day. Maintain consistency; functional mushrooms work best when used regularly over time, rather than sporadically.
Effective dosages vary depending on the mushroom and the extraction strength. For our standardised extracts, we recommend 600-1000mg daily as a starting point. Lion's Mane research typically uses 900 mg daily. Start with lower amounts and adjust as needed. Professional athletes sometimes use higher amounts. Consult your healthcare provider for personalised guidance.
Yes, many users combine mushrooms for comprehensive support. Popular combinations include Lion's Mane with Cordyceps for morning focus and energy, or Reishi with Chaga or other adaptogens for evening routines. Our products are designed to work synergistically. However, start with one mushroom type to understand your individual response before combining multiple varieties.
While functional mushrooms have long been used traditionally, there's limited research on their use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. We recommend consulting your healthcare provider before use during these periods. Many practitioners suggest focusing on whole food sources of mushrooms during pregnancy rather than concentrated extracts.
Each batch undergoes standardised extraction protocols followed by analytical testing to verify compound levels. We maintain detailed batch records and adjust extraction parameters when needed to achieve consistent potency. Our quality control process encompasses both in-house testing and independent third-party laboratory verification, ensuring that every product meets our high standards before it reaches our customers.
Currently, there are no validated reference standards for accurately measuring these specific compounds, making precise quantification unreliable. Reputable testing laboratories acknowledge this limitation. Instead, we focus on verifiable metrics, such as beta-glucan and polyphenol content and overall extract quality. Companies claiming exact hericenones percentages often rely on unvalidated testing methods that can't be independently verified.
We partner with certified organic farms that use sustainable cultivation practices, including renewable energy and waste recycling systems. Our mushrooms grow on natural substrate. Transparency in our supply chain reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility.
